Man, this really Go-Bots

Well, judging by the activity we've seen on the blog lately, no one has much to say. Or maybe it's because we all keep seeing each other. I also have nothing really bloggy to say, so I'll give you my recent movie reviews:

Amelie: Good flick, very engaging. The actress who played the lead was great, charming and very cute. I knew it was going to be a life-affirming, uplifting movie on the way in, but I was hoping they wouldn't play the "love" card as the answer to life's problems. It can feel like a bit of a cop-out at times. But it was still very imaginative and had great music and cinematgraphy.

Old School: I would have to put this movie on the "must-see" list for anyone who is friends with, knows, or has even heard of Jeff Gilroy. Definitely up there with the likes of PCU and Van Wilder (a flick that never got the credit it deserved for being hilarious). So if you like those kinds of movies you'll like this one as well. Or if you just like seeing Will Ferrel acting drunk.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest: This is one of those movies that I never say for whatever reason and after a while it was too embarrassing to tell anyone. Although apparently I just did, so I guess that's that. Anyway, I read that the author of the book protested the book to the point where he sued to prevent it from being made because the story wasn't going to be told from the Chief's point of view. So all I kept thinking about was how different that movie would have been. At any rate, still a great flick, but one those that I don't need to see again.

Well that's it. Only 3 movies in the last 2 weeks. With everyone being home and the holiday and all I haven't had as much movie time as usual. Oh well, only 207 more movies on my list...next week Day for Night and Equilibrium!
